Taelee’s narrative works contrast her visual aesthetic. Her storytelling is dark, influenced by horror elements and touches on the personal relationships and emotions of her characters. She applies various inspirations from Class of ‘09, Danganronpa, Japanese Harajuku fashion, MARINA, Melanie Martinez, NANA, OMORI, Swarm, shoujo manga tropes, the gyaru subculture and her own experiences into her work. The themes of love, friendship, and complex human emotions are explored throughout her works.
